How To See Startup and Shutdown Time In Windows

To view the exact shutdown and start-up time follow the below steps:

Method 1:
  1. Open Run Dialog box by pressing WIN +R
  2. In Run dialog box type eventvwr.msc and press Enter. If you are using Windows 8, you can run the Event Viewer with the Windows Key + X + V shortcut.
  3. Click on System left navigation pane & see following Event code, At the far right pane.
  • 6005 – System start up - It gives the message “The Event log service was started”.
  • 6006 - System shutdown - It gives the message “The Event log service was stopped”.
  • 6008 - dirty shutdown - It gives the message “The previous system shutdown at time on date was unexpected”.
  • 6009 - indicates the operating system version, build number, service pack level, and other pertinent information about the system..
 Method 2:
  1. Open Run Dialog box by pressing WIN +R
  2. Type net statistics workstation and press enter.
  3. It will show startup time.
  4. Then See Statistics since
 Method 3:
  1. Open Run Dialog box by pressing WIN +R
  2. Type the command systeminfo It will take some time depends upon your system speed.
  3. Label named System Boot Time will show your system startup time.
  4. Then find System Up Time
Method 4:
  1. Download and Copy your uptime.exe to C:\Windows
  2. Open Run Dialog box by pressing WIN +R
  3. Type uptime.exe or simply uptime. It will show you the time in a convenient way.
