Show / Hide filename extension in Windows XP

Click Start button, select Control Panel:

Double click Folder Options, switch to View tab in the pop-up window:

Uncheck for Hide and Check for show extensions for known file types and click Apply button to save changes:

Now, you have successfully show file extensions in Windows XP.

Now open any folder>


Click on Tools under menu bar


Then Folder Option


Click on View Tab


Uncheck for Hide and Check for show extensions for known file types and click Apply button to save changes:

Note:- If it does not work, you may encounter some virus, it is recommended to scan your computer with AntiVirus softwares.
